Sidelights and Rear d/s side light not working

  1. #1
Evening all, After 2-3 hours of looking round my car i had to ask for some help from the great saxperiance members. Yesterday stupidly playing around with lights my "mate" decided to put some LED lights on my car and thought it would be a good idea to plug them into my sidelights... At first the lights were working and i was pretty convinced he did a good job... Well as it seems its gone a bit pair shaped, He plugged the LED wires positive & negative wires into the plug end of the d/s sidelight and now neither the sidelights work , the back d/s fog light the speedo illuminators , stereo light and light warning buzzer... If anyone has any useful information it would be much appreciated !

    Checked fuses - none blown

    Checked bulbs - none blown

A friend told me it could be a melted wire 0_o , if so is this a big and exspensive job ?

    Thanks D.Manners

Yea checked fuses in the interior and the relay box =( , im gunna give them a recheck tommorow shwammmm =/.

I would have thought it more likely to be a fuse than a melted wire its probably worth checking them if they are ok you could do with a multi-meter and do a continuity on the sidelight wires

check the fuses, i think the n/s sidelight and tail light are on the same fuse

Aye , i heard they are on a fairly big cluster Rear d/s front 2 sidelights etc... Been through the fuses once so if its not that ? It might have to be a autoelec job which i want as a last resort ^_^.

i had same problem few weeks ago with no lights, warning buzzer, illumination etc etc. was a dodgy earth, which 1 i dont know, i messed with the earths on back lights, and checked all connections behind the rear quarter panels and pulled every single fuse from under the dash out 1 by 1 and checked them, all was fine. then started car up and everything worked.
