This may sound like a really silly question, but, I have a Mk2 VTR with a wobbly gearstick. It selects and stays in gear fine, but there is so much play in the stick it's unreal.
Anyway, I'm looking at getting a 1.1 gearbox in the near future, would it be worth changing the linkage rods now, and seeing if that fix's the problem in question, or wait until the 1.1 gearbox is on, and see if it fix's the problem after that??
Basically, would the 1.1 gearbox have different linkages as apposed to the VTR gearbox, or if I bought new ones now, to fit the VTR gearbox, would they no longer fit on the 1.1 gearbox??
Cheers in advance people.
