Idling problem (not ICV)

  1. #1
    Issue:
Once engine is warm and stationary the revs will drop and engine will hunt/labour.
within about 30 seconds revs will return to normal. I also sometimes have problems with it stalling when taking off in 1st.

I have replaced the ICV which did not fix it. I plugged it up on a diagnostic machine and it came back with faulty lambda sensor. However when plugging it back in error had cleared itself.

The garage that done diag said the lambda didn't matter because i was de-catted. However this lambda is in the manifold so surely it does matter!?

Should i replace it and see if it fixes the problem?

Lambda sensors dont tend to go wrong much but as what you stated, possibly lambda, also temp sensors will be the ones more than likely to fail and they will cause an engine to cut out when the engine is hot as it thinks the engine is still cold and feeds too much. give your throttle body a clean up with some carb cleaner. good luck
