Removing rear ABS beam, brake lines....

  1. #1
In the process of removing my beam, it's got ABS. Just wondering which brake line connections to undo, am I right in saying the top left and bottom left in the picture? these are the only connections that follow down the car. Any help appreciated. Nick

    Yea, simple really.

    Remove them 2 pipes
    disconnect handbrake cables & abs.
Then the 4 bolts and its out

If your keeping your old brake callipers... from experience... you would be far better unbolting the brakes and the brake bias valve from your beam and leave the lines where they are. If you try get them off and they round off, then you will have 4 new lines to buy and fit.

If you do go down the route of undoing the brake lines - use plenty of shock and unlock and a proper brake line spanner.

... saying that... the O/S rear brake line and the top front one look too corroded to pass an MOT - so it would make sense to replace them while the rear beam is off

i agree bout the corroded brake pipe, i would have said the top left and bottom right could really do with being changed, while ya sorting the brakes mate
