Whirring, grinding noise from Diff or Driveshaft

   Ive been given a vtr and theres a noise coming from what i think/hope is the driveshaft or it could be the diff.
   There is play in both ends of the shaft is it likley to be that? i can actually drive the car at the moment so its hard to tell.

   driveshafts to me mate... cv joint could be seroulsy messed up if it grinding? hope it helps lol

   mine had just been going that put a new drive shaft on and all sorted

   Replace driveshafts first, that way it rules out them, if the problem is not cured, try to source a new gearbox. That would be my way to do things
