vtr to vts engine conversion

ok so im not to good at mechanics but i've been told that basiclly my engine is fucked, so need a new one.

was thinking of getting a vts engine conversion, would that cost more if i got the garage to put one of them in compared to just putting in another vtr one in ? if so how much more do you reckon it would cost ??

    prices please

Not sure on exact prices but i had one done by a specialist a few years ago at £2000.

Normal garage will probably want £1000 at a guess, including supplying an engine. I can see labour being 400 minimum.

Standard vtr swap however wont be much cheaper. Less time to put some of it in but still not much difference.

ohh :/ i got quoted 700-800 for one garage and they were supplying the engine but that was a straight swap

Tabby... Do yourself a favour and pay the £15 for premium membership. Then have a look through the For sale sections and the how-to's. All the info you need will be in there and you'll save enough money to warrant paying the £15 out.

It can be done with minimal knowledge, the guides came in very handy when i did it.
