Stickerbombing...

   I've just ordered a stickerbomb book and wanna do it to the mirror caps of my vts.
   
   I've had a look through the searches and Im just getting confused of how to take the mirror caps off
   
   are they clips or just some form of adhesive?

   clipped on but getting them off will mostly likely snap the clips (mine did)
   
   not to worry, just tigerseal them back on

   Why dont you just StickerBomb them with the caps still on the mirror?
   Then the bits that stick out over the caps just get a really sharp stanley n go around the mirror cap?

   Sorry to hi-jack your thread. I'm also doing the same tomorrow but on my interior mirror. Does it just pull off?

   & for the interior mirror Im guessing its just pulls off from the stalk but there is only one way to find out

   depends my old one pulled off but the guy fitted a new one with my windscreen that you pull up and it comes off.
   
   Also watch out when putting it back on, friend of the family pushed to hard and it broke the clip and it cracked the windscreen

   laquer over them too buddy as the rain/sun fades and peels them off

    Definitely lacquering mine. Want a smooth, shiny and protected finish. Paper stickers will not weather well lol

    They dont weather well, they dont laquer well either no matter how lightly you put it on it distortes the color slighty because they just soak it up. i chose against laquering mine and just keep layering them up when needed

    Don't do the dash they won't stick very well I did my boot linking and there's starting to come off by as no one touches it there fine, if you do the dash then you will have to smooth it down but tbh it's to much hasstle

    i've been thinking...im gonna look into getting a show cage & one of the harnesses that can hold down your spare wheel where the seats used to be...then stickerbombing my spare wheel

    That was probly the cleaning stuff you had on your dash.. Id happily bet that if youd of cleaned it with a degreaser like autosmart theyd of taken better.
    
    I had the same with my underbonnet i spent nearly as long cleaning it before sticking them as i did putting them on.

    I washed it with normal car shampoo the week before to get all the dirt off then on the day i used "paint prep wipes" from halfords as i had nothing else to hand but you could use autosmart or painters/builder wipes..

    Also you need to make sure you give it a realy realy realy good laquaer after doing it other they peal realy quickly around the edges..
    
    I only gave it a light laquaer as somone one here said theyt go yellowly if you go too heavy and mine pealed after driving to southampton from mine, weekend following gave it three coats and it loooks the same but hasnt pealed again

    Book came yesterday and i decided to bomb my vtr center console, not the easiest thing to stickerbomb but i reckon it looks the part! :-D
