wheel carrier

    my spare tyre in my wheel carrier was bold as fook so took it out otherday why should i pay petrol to carry a shit tyre about and now i have a empty carrier so might aswell take it off but how the fuck do you get it off tried and tried with no luck
    oh and its a mk1 if that helps ?

    On the right hand side there is a plate with a 10mm bolt. undo the bolt and plate and it just un-hooks. you will never sell it on ebay mate just dump it and get a can of tyre foam.

    I just took the wheel out and cut a slit in the bracket that holds the right hand side of the carrier. This allowed me to just lift the right side out and then twist the left side through the rubber grommet.

    If you cut the slit downwards then if you ever want to refit the carrier it will still sit in the original slot and will be secure as it pushed down anyway
