Water dispearing internally??

I have to keep topping my water up every couple of days. i have got mayo on my water cap and on my oil cap but not on the dipstick, aster seeing this i thought it must be the head gasket. So i got a mechanic to do a head gasket test on and it come back fine. Ive had the mechanic out a couple of time but he cant seem to find the problem as there isnt any obvious leaks so the water must be losing internally, the car is running fine but i just dont knw where the water keeps going? any ideas anyone? Me and the mechanic are both baffled?
    Thanks

    Hi,
I'm not a mechanic but it is not rocket science, you got Mayo in water and the water is "going away", so it is the head gasket, just get a second opinion in another garage with another mechanic.

I had a similar problem to this mate, turned out there was a crack in the cylinder lining or something like that. pressure tests came back ok but they put it on and left it over night and found it had dropped. not saying yours is the same thing but as already mentioned get another garage/mechanic to have a look.

Does the coolant smell of petrol? If so HG has gone.

Did you let the car run up to normal working temperature before doing the test?

check to see if there is a coolant smell coming out of the exhaust when it is running, if there is the head gasket has gone, i have had this problem on renault 3l diesel engines, no prob with oil just mayo in the header cap, a block tester dosent show this either, check to see if there is any evidence of burnt coolant on any of the exhaust joints too, this will be a pinky powder substance.

Thanks, i will have a look on the exhaust and have a smell of the coolent. The mechanic put a combustion gas test thing on, he let it get up to temperature and done the test 3 times, the liquid stayed blue every time? Ill let update you when i have smelt the coolent and exhaust.
    Thanks

When my heater matrix went on my vtr there was water dripping out the bottom of the dash like under the center console when my engine was running it would just keep dripping so obviously your carpets would be soaked!

Oh ok... no the carpet isnt wet... but the fuse box keeps fusing??? i think thats another problem though. or could they both be linked??

pull your carpet up in the passenger side and check for any water
