the rear beam on my vts is sadly away, however its a 2000 mk2 vts, i was told by a mechanic that i can get the axle off any saxo, knock out the king pins and replace them with the pins tht are on my vts and that it will be good to go. the mechanic explained that they have done this before and everything was all good. Can anyone give me some advice? thanks

#2just get a secondhand VTS beam, lot less work, or even better contact IM Axles and get a refurb with warranty. BTW kingpins are part of the steering on commercial vehicles and vintage cars, nothing to do with the rear suspension or axle on a Saxo

#3It isnt a case of just knocking off the main beam pin. Most garage do not have the equipment or knowhow on doing this, so clearly not a case of just knocking the pins off.
You can get a beam off another VTS and it will fit straight on but it could have the same problem in a few weeks.
You could get a beam off a VTR and then transfer over your trailing arms with new bearings, but again you could be wasting your time and find out the beam has worn pins.
The only definate solution to this problem is to have your beam refurbished. IM Axles are the choice of the majority. -
#4I lolled at KingPins too.
