Really stupid question.

   Sorry for this really stupid question, but I've been wanting to know...
   On my 1.1 saxo engine which looks similar to this...
   
   
   What is the silver plate thing right at the bottom?
   Mine's loose and has rust on it and it's really bothering me and I don't know what it is!

   ahh nice one, cheers! is it literally just bolted on there? mine's loose and rusted, was thinking of getting another.

   Yeah it's just bolted on, you should be able to find a new one pretty easily.

   Yeah they're no more than £15 posted on eBay, should tidy up the look of the engine a bit. The bolts all seem quite rusted though, hope they'll come out!

   no worries mate and yeah just bolted on easy enough to change just be careful not to round the bolt heads

   Yeah will do! If I remember rightly is there a wire/cable going through a hole in it somewhere?

   just take it off, you dont need it, chances are the 3 x 10mm bolts will snap in the manifold any ways, so just try, if they come out great, if they snap, just leave the sheild off
