RS turbo alloys on saxo?

  1. #1
    Refurbed in black/Dark grey...

    Yay? Nay?

  2. #2
if they will fit (im not expert so i wouldnt know) id say they look sweet as fook mate
  3. #3
maybe smooth of the ford stamps though
  4. #4
Yees, would smooth the stamps off first. Well fords stud allignment is the same so these onlt being 15's they should be reet. From what i can read the tyre size is 195 60 15.
  5. #5
you will need 45 profile tyres ideally, also 20mm spacers iirc
  6. #6
you mite need some spacers and a lower profile tyre

    beat me to it haha
  7. #7
    as above

    20mm spacer
  8. #8
Obviously the lower profile tyres however will they need spacing on the front and rear? Ive only ever fit oem alloys so ive never needed spacers and such...
  9. #9
yes the offset of the wheels will be wrong for citroen you need spacers to correct that
  10. #10
Would this have a problem with the car being lowered, catching arches etc? Also, will i need to buy some new bolts?
  11. #11
just to let you know, 50 profile tyres on saxo rub, so 60 will rub an awful lot
  12. #12
if there 15s then i imagine they shouldnt scrape to much

I will be scrapping the tyres and buying new ones so i'll buy 45's or something. Thanks for the heads up though

i had 50 profile on my totally standard vts (15inch standard vts wheels)when i bought it and i can confirm 100% that they scrape on full lock even at standard height

    good man
  16. #16
You could possibly pull this off on the right style of car. Quite retro
  17. #17
They could work....possibly polished or the recesses painted black and the rest silver?
They will fit as they will have the same PCD but you will DEFO need 45 profile tyre and 20mm spacers and have you checked to see what the centre bore is? Your hub will be 65.1mm and the centre bore on the rs wheel might be around the 63mm area so may need to be drilled bigger.
  18. #18
Well ive just bought a set of 5 of these on impulse for 70 odd quid, not bad for five i thought... Once i go pick them up i'll be able to have a faff with them, they best bloody fit though lol.

I'm thinking a graphite refurb for these since my saxo is black, just thinking about nuts now (ha ha...) Will i need to buy another full set or will my current ones do the job?

Pics to come when i pick them up
  19. #19
The actual wheel and style look for too old to look good on a saxo, should have spunked a load on some 5spoke cossie rims, look porn on a sax
  20. #20
nope think they would look pooo, someone do a photshop on them??
  21. #21
not a fan off the wheels but youwill defo need some 20mm spacers and in doing so
WILL need longer bolts to fit unless you get hubcenteric spacers then the standard ford bolts should do iirc
  22. #22
On a mk1 or mk2? I think they stand a better chance of looking good on a mk1 tbh
  23. #23
Ive gone against all you haters and im going for it! lol Wheels picked up and below are the results, all in great nick too, wont need much rubbing down tbh.

Taken a pic of one propped up next to the front arch for an idea. Just need to work out what colour to spray them, was going to go dark at first but a lighter shade makes them stand out a bit more. What do you lot reckon?

Also, what are these hub-centric spacers? How do they work? Also seen some spacers with studs attached, these any good?

  24. #24
    looka pretty good imo!
  25. #25
Harry spray them white, black, purple, red, green, blue, yellow, orange errr carnt think of any other colour, I personally agree with the going lighter colour tho
  26. #26
Quick shop of them dark grey ish:

  27. #27
    Looks good
  28. #28
    Loool they will look pap
  29. #29
hate tthes wheeels on escorts let alone saxo's
  30. #30
    opinion...no
  31. #31
they look a bit crap tbh much better ford wheels out there

hubcentric spacers bolt to the hubs then your wheel bolts to the spacers and are the best type of spacers to buy if your going to put them on
  33. #33
I recon they will actually look good in silver! Defo smooth the lettering off though. Please trial fit them before spending money on paint!
  34. #34
I reckon these will look amazing! I want some for my mk1 now
  35. #35
i thinking no i almost and still and 2 minds about trying sum series 1 wheels 7 spokes with stretch hmmm
  36. #36
Achally seeing the pic now on the phone not works comp it look alright I was wondering how long before sumone did this
  37. #37
looks good imo... i would do it if i had a saxo..
  38. #38
get a pic from abit further away
  39. #39

thats what i ment to say but didnt haha
  41. #41
Well, you lot are split down the middle. Some of you hate them and i cant see why tbh, they remind me a bit of raptors, people love them lol.

Anyway ive been pricing up stuff and its going to be a right effort with spacers and the price of them :O However it'd be cheaper to buy standard spacers and longer bolts; do i really want to be buying hubcentric ones or can i be a tight arse here?

Anyhooo, i'll grab some more pictures from further away and also do a bit of a trial fitting before i go buy everything.

Anyone recommend a company/person to buy spacers and bolts from? Anyone on here deal with them?

    Haters gonna' hate
  42. #42
I had 20mm spacers on my astra, admittedly they were proper hubcentric but did have bore flanges on so the wheel was properly centered, had no problems with them
  43. #43
Dont be a tight arse...get hubcentric spacers.
  44. #44
Been doing some more research on this and even with the correct spacers i will need to have them modified to the correct outer bore for the ford wheel to fit on correctly as the citroen size is a few mil too big :/

Would this be possible? Its not really alot of metal to shave off tbh... Also found some spacers going on ebay for 40 quid but i still need to look into the bore size issue.

Im affraid these might not be ready for fcs I'll just have to do a quick refurb of my current vtr's because they look a little worse for wear
  45. #45
u can fit these on if u drill the centres out, i did it before and it defo works, get a electric drill and bored them out, should take 10 - 20 mins a wheel as u have to constantly stop to check if they fit yet lol
  46. #46
i like these wheels, cant wait to see the finished picture!
  47. #47
They will definately need spacers and lower profile tires definately 195 45 15's awesome alloys on a RS Turbo but not on a saxo i dont think the off set would look right!! Happy Modding x x x
  48. #48
Im on 195/50/15 and they catch on the back (not front) and I have 25mm spacers and its seriously close to the torsion bar cover :-D

What exactly are you talking about?!!!

15-20mm hubcentric spacers and spiggot rings and they will fit straight on.

Personally though I'm not a fan. Think the Mk6 RS2000 wheels would look much nicer

  50. #50
id much rather stick to vts wheels
  51. #51
reason i like vtr wheels is because it reminds me of the perpper pots on my dads old xr2i haha

although im not sure these will suite a saxo :$
  52. #52
they dont even look good on rs turbos. terrible looking wheels imo
mk6 wheels are very nice though
  53. #53
mk 3 rs wheels would look a lot better if you got some dimond cut ones
