got a sort of rattling / cackle noise when i accelerate. Usually occurs in 3rd gear but disappears after a while. Im thinking heat shield or drive shafts maybe. Sounds like its coming from underneath the front of my car. Any ideas ?
Important! : rattling while accelerating?

#4might be the baffles in your silencers, if it has a mid silencer check where the pipes are welded on each end of it,, and give it a shake and a pull up and down to check for noises.. this has happend to me on all my saxos. i just weld them back up and hope for the best, until it realy is fooked then buy a new one or cut it out and make a straight thru section with a bit of old exhaust.

#5thanks mate but i dont have a mid silencer, i have a cat back stainless steel system.

#6Might even be the exhaust ratteling on the bottom of the car, happened to me before.

#7I have this, and it's my centre pipe where it curves rattling against the bottom of the car, shakes for me when I come off the throttle and or corner! So I wedged a sock between the pipe to stop the noise, setting the sock o fire hahah!

#8Mine does this too... sounds like a heat shield but its on there good and tight. I'll have a check for play in the exhaust tomorrow...
