aftermarket gear knob removal

   when i baught my car it had a tacky aftermarket chrome knob ive tried to remove it to replace with something a little more tastefull but it will not budge. under it there is a peice of white plastic like a sleeve that pokes out from it a bit and on top it has alan key screws but i think these are for show because they wont budge, any ideas on how to remove without pulling my entire gear system throguh the car floor.

   does the bottom or top part unscrew then there should be 3 small allen key bolts that screw into your gear stick

   nope it seems to just be sat on their and i dont wantto pull super hard incase i pull something important out of place .

   see if you can twist it anti clockwise i just looked at my after market one pm me ya mobile if ya want and ill ring ya

   ill give it another go in the morning cant go doing anything physical atm ive messed my shoulder up in rugby but thanks mate.

   ther will be a sleve on the bottom of the knob which wil unscrew to reveal a series of three allen grub screws which will hold the knob on
