Are all red rears legal?

Also, how do people go about making the indicators shine orange, and the reverse light shining white?
These are what I'm talking about:

    Thanks in advance

my mate had some really red ones on his 106 about a year ago and got told to change them but it was proply because of the colour of indicators and rverse lights

yh that happend to a guy on here aswell but his were really red.
    but
if there like the 1's above they are abit more oem looking and shouldn't draw as much attention

when it gets dark il get a pick of my indicators for ya

Green bulb will shine through yellow/orange

you dont need reverse lights to pass an MOT so i dont see that being a problem

Don't 106's come like this as standard?? Use some led white bulbs for reverse they will be bright enough and some orange bulbs will be fine

imo i dont think you'd need LED reverse lights mine are pretty bright already just look a little pink lol

    will do

All reds look the Don! It's the only aftermarket lights I'd fit to a saxo..

Why don't people just fit 106 lights or do they not fit?
  12. #12
aslong as your lights and brake lights are easily recognisable, there will be no issue
the colour of your indicators have to be orange. if they shine orange, with no other hint of another colour, there will be no problem

its not a legal requirement to have a reverse light. it wont be a problem.

I agree man, plus my car's black so I think it will look rad

A mate of mine has fitted the 106 rears to his VTS, he said it was a bit of a pain because of having to swap the boots and the housing the lights sit in to bolt in etc, more effort than it's worth tbh, would rather just tint the originals

That's what I'm trying to figure out, how to get them to shine orange rather than a hint of red.
    Cheers though

tried to take pics didnt come up very well but can tell you they are defiately shining orange
  16. #16
depending on how its been tinted, spray or film or paint...will depend on what the light will show.
i know alot of films, mainly lamin ex, will still show an orange light for indies if applied correctly.

I've bought some of that E-Tech Red Tint Spray, I've always got my current MK1 rears on atm so will just continue to use them if the MK2's I've bought fail with the tint spray

if u tint them properly they dont make to much diffrent to the colour of the lights, but if it does like wats already been said some led bulbs work well.

its legal as long as your indicator flashes orange, and you can see a clear distinction between tail, brake and fog light . doesnt matter about reverse light as its not a legal requirement to have one on MOT

As Above Lamin-x dosent affect the light performance at all, ive done my front fogs indicators and Headlights "Black" and i mean "Black" and they work fine..
