Important! : Temp gauge stuck

   I have a mk2 vtr and was working fine befor then and As above the gauge is stuck on half even when key is out of egnition but when car worms up it goes up like normal e.g insted of sittimg at botum of gauge and going up to half its sits at half and goes to top the red ligbt doesnt come on
   
   Any idears of what it could be/how to fix p.s car isnt over heating ( as im awere of )

   Either thermostat has decided to fuck up, or the dial is just playing up.
   
   First thing - Reset the ECU by unplugging the battery for half hour.
   
   Should reset everything properly.
   
   If it still does it, take the thermostat out and test it using boiling water, if it opens up properly it is working still! Personally? Sound like when my thermostat decided to go up the shitter, they are about £9 to replace I think? Just need to rebleed the system after mate.
