#2emerald, omex want to make sure the person who can map it doesnt live a million miles away. ssc might doing a kms group buy which id prob be on if i had some money
-
#3how much we talking!??
-
#4If I was to choise I would want one with a base map so that you can plug in and then play useing a lap top that way when you have a track day you can alter it to suit.
-
#5sod that playing around milarky! rather have it set up & not tamperd with TBH!
-
#6'milarky' haha. class
-
#7kms comes with the base map which is quite handy if you want save for your tbs, then get it mapped properly when youve got them.can use with your laptop too. think its about 600. an omex is about 700 hundred with no base map.

#8Hmm KMS is looking good!! places to get this from!??

-
#11when attempting the bodies on mine westy i was gonna go with an ecu supllied by jamsport
-
#12kms has been good to mine, fueling sets its self up, only ignition reqs mapping
-
#13who are you looking to do the work on yours now sir!??Quote:Originally Posted by ppavliwhen attempting the bodies on mine westy i was gonna go with an ecu supllied by jamsport

#14fueling also needs setting up as ign timing is relative to fuling, so changing the ign you have to change the fuel, you also have to change several other factors as well e.g. inlet temp adjusted fueling/ignition, engine temp same things etc. Although most ecus kmc, gems, omex etc will self map to the current setup, where as this is good its not perfect so i wouldnt recommend ragging the car after a week of driving, its best to get it mapped properly, so i wouldnt be buying the kms over any other just because it does self mapping (as all the others do this also).
Also a note on the wideband, its the best option to go for but if you dont get it, then when you get your car mapped it wont matter as the narrow band can map within its range providing the mapping is done properly. You wont be going wide of lambda 1 on a n/a car anyways so wideband isnt as important.
boosted you wouldnt buy a kms as it doesnt have knock or work with the saxo stepper.

#15ok fantastic ratty cheers for that!
could i have you thoughts on what trottle bodies to use please! i will be saving to get this done properly... as thats all i want with the sax... engine strip & rebuild but with trumpets!!
-
#16westy gmc are developing a new kit. it will still use your standard fuel rail, fuel reg etc so theres money saved there and its meant to be really easy to fit, more money saved. it is sounding really promising so defo look out for that. few months though
-
#17wicked good spot sir.... ill be saving hard for a year so to get this done for the sax so its all good.... throttle bodies & cam is the deal! not a stupid cam proberly 270degree dunno what bodies yet ill leave that for my mechanic to sort but possibly Jenvey! also looking to get the bonnet to cooluvers to put vents in for the bodies to breath properly..... any ideas on good bodies to use guys....??

#18jenveys the one, what trumpet size best to suit i dont know. im going the same route as you, just gonna look out for gmcs which are gonna be specially developed and hopefully a good price. watch this space

#23Very interesting read.
Ive got ideas too Westy, its a serious idea in my head, need something to spend my money on when ive been out at sea for a few months.
Altho i have no idea about all this, so will be reading up on things all the time to clue me up -
#24as said pt51 will be fine, but tbs give you option of running really wild cams so to get the best out of tbs ideally pt52+
