1999 VTR engine/running problem

   My VTR I've had over 4 & a half years, it only has 65k on the clock. It revs high itself sometimes upto 3000 revs. it's always revved high(1000) even when it's running fine. Recently it started misfiring and running really rough. If I switch it off then start it again it's fine for a few seconds then starts misfiring again. I've had a few scanners/diagnostics on it & it's coming up with RPM sensor & injector 2 & 3 circuit. I changed the injectors & rail & it's still the same. I cleaned the Idle Control Valve, still the same. I'm now going to change the crank(RPM) sensor & lambda sensor along with the coolant temp sensor to see if it makes any difference. Does anyone know or has experienced injector 2 & 3 circuit problems & how to rectify? Cheers.

   Just tried starting the car but no luck. As the engine turns it's spinning quicker than usual & it smells of petrol. Any suggestions or shall I just blow it up? lol getting extremely pissed off!

   Problem solved, it was the coolant temp sensor & connector. Car is now running good again with maximum power.

   I am suffering similar problems with my 2002 vts, but without the high idle speed. I got myself one of those little diagnostic readers and I have these codes showing:
   
   P0300
   powertrain: engine misfire
   
   p0203
   powertrain: injector 3 control circuit
   
   p0711
   powertrain: TFT sensor circuit range/performance
   
   I have ordered a replacement coilpack I found on eBay for really cheap, if that doesn't fix the problem I will try your solution...

   Im also having similar problems. While my car idles, it sometimes goes to stall but doesnt and revvs it self about 2k. I look like a right d*ck when at traffic lights lol. I have changed the tps but still the same. Any idea? I have also noticed that while driving it speeds itself up although i apply the brakes. Really anoying.
