Is smoking rear lights MOT compliant?

I smoked out my rear lights a medium dark colour, when wet you can still make out the red etc. The light shines through fine etc.

Are these legal for the mot, will I need to add reflectors etc?

aslong as there not rediculous to the point of where you cant see your rear/break lights you should have a problem.

or if your that worried just go up the scrappy, get a set of spare lights and wack them on for MOT time. Win Win.

or tint them so they are legal??? may look cool and may be great idea to just get spares for mot time, but do u really want the person driving behind u unable to see the lights and rear end u. then have insurance void cos your lights are too dark?

    use Lamin ex Smoke Tint!
    legal

looks great, will show all the lights as they should for MOT / legal requirements.
and just as cheap as spray tint / film.

Make sure the reflectors in the light cluster are easily visible as well.

LOL always makes me laugh when you can so clearly see it.

I've never had problems with mine tinted quite dark.

do it properly and the tint colour wont effect the light output. u will however need some kind of rear facing red reflecter on each side. just stick a couple on the bumper then remove them after the mot. thats what i did. the lenses them selves cna be any colour to pass the mot.

Yup, just think if I was behind me would I be able to see his brake lights in all conditions I.e: Fog, Darkness, Ultra-light. If the answers yes, then you'll have no problem. If there's the slightest bit of doubt in your mind. Take them off and throw standards back on. Seriously don't risk it if you worry a lot.
