bloody torsion bar arhhhhhhhh

    I really need help i have got to the part of lowering my car where you pull the torsion bars out and its impossible,how do you wack them from the other side when them washers are hard enought to get out anyway let alone with them tucked away,any help would be wicked please,i use so much wd 40 its unreal lol.

    use a bar and a big hammer and some one on other side with a slide hammer at same time and it should move for you if its well lubricated

    as above ^^^^ but make sure you use lots of 40 + they will move

    Don't over do it either. The ends are aluminium (iirc) and too much force will cause them to change form. AKA - Fucked.

    Morgan's wrong, the whole bar is made of mild steel.

    Get a good size crow bar/breaker car, cut the ends off and use the newly created straight bar to hammer the torsion bars out. You might mark your rear arch lining, so put a bit of cloth on it to make sure you dont. Have a look in my progress thread, pics arent great but it might give you some clues.
