Probably an absolutly stupid question about gearbox

   hi guys, hopefully my last wuestion for a while. my replacement gearbox came 2day, second hand off ebay. it was nice and cheap but when it arrived it is absolutly lagged in oil.i mean fedex said it was damaged but could it be the guy just didnt empty it properly,i dont want to fit it and it be fooked or could something be damaged in there to produce the oil, thanks

   The gearbox oil is pretty tricky to completely remove from inside the gearbox unless it's stripped down. The oil will have just leaked out of the driveshaft holes.

   Ive tried to drain them completely loads of times, only to find when ive left it in the garage over night another half a litre has come out. Id just rinse it and make doubly sure its not coming from the input shaft etc.
