Car vibrating,possible engine mount?

  1. #1
Hey,mate just bought a vts there yesterday and only today noticed the car shaking. The steering wheel shakes along with the mirrors and dash.
Thinking its an engine mount but just want to make sure before we go and get another one.

It vibrates when starting the car and then stops when it gets to correct idle point,so it doesnt vibrate on idle, once you rev the car it will vibrate (this is in neutral) and also when you drive it will vibrate. The strange thing is that it will only do this up until maybe 3-4k revs then it runs smooth. Whats everyone elses opinions on this. Anything we should check before we go ahead with changing mounts??

    Any help appreciated

Yeah could well be an engine mount

My ECU mount went on my old VTR and similar symptoms
Best thing to do is remove the mount before buying another one to check if its gone.

Should be in two parts with a bolt which connects them
The bolt had sheared off in my one so just replaced the whole lot

Support the engine from underneath with a jack before removing the mount
