alloys

   Right im spraying alloys and i have searched but cant find an answer to my question. They've been painted before (gun metal) when i sand them do i to it till the old primers off or until the gun metals off?

   sand them to the metal, primer, paint, lacquer. jobs a goodun.

   i mean where theyve been painted before do i do it till the old primer and rough that up or until the bare metal, apparantly bare metal means it will flake?

   you sand them down to the bare metal
   
   spray on your own primer
   paint
   and lacquer
