Lowering with Bilstein B8

  1. #1
    hi guys,

I want to buy a Set Bilstein B8 sprint and I ask me which springs I can combine with them. I can not use Faulkners because here in Germany I need a homologation for the German TÜV.

So keep up the usual suspects, H&R 45mm, Eibach, KAW 50mm or Hamann 50mm

The Bilstein shocks produce a back pressure of 25kg, so they push the car to the top more than a standard shocks.

So what is the real lowering with 50mm springs? Whats your experiences? maybe with pics?

    thanks a lot!!

    cheers

i used eibach springs on my saxo alongside the b8's. i did have the faulkner springs until one snapped on the way to work. the eibachs are good springs, a little softer than the faulkners, but still a good spring. the sportlines are suppoed to lower 50mm but looked more like 40mm when on the car.

oh thank you, that confirms my conjecture the back pressure is very mutch

How is the quality of faulkner? that brand is absolute unknown here !!

Being a british manufacturer they do not have TUV certification so you are best with the Eibach..

thank you, Eibach or H&R!! but the H&R lowering is max 45mm.
