1.1 Oil and Overheating warning lights flash

   Hey all,
   
   On my dash every now and then the oil and overheating light flash, it looks like a dodgy connection because they come on and off randomly, sometimes just a flash sometimes for 5 seconds. But they always go off.
   
   Does anyone know how i would stop this from happening because its getting annoying?

   Have you checked your oil level mate? When oil gets below a certain level, the light can flash on and off as the oil level rolls about.

   This happened in my 1.1 and i just ignored it. But the next day was driving up the A1 and the head gasket blew :> ooooopsies.

   i took a video and will upload later, and no my oil level is too high at the moment but if theres too much oil it wont damage it will it?

   Too much oil can damage it yes.

   Drain some oil off so it sits in the level properly. If you leave the car idling, does the light come on? Or just while driving?
