#2There are tapered or flat mate.

#3tapered or flat,ABS or non ABS, VT 2 pice type or standard single piece, no,theres quite a few different ones

#4This info is all you need to know really. to expand mk1's are ussually flat faced and mk2's are usually tapered at the ends. although you should check as they may have been changed in their lifes aswell as the legs.Quote:tapered or flat,ABS or non ABS, VT 2 pice type or standard single piece, no,theres quite a few different ones
The drivers side can be one single shaft on ususally lower spec models anything vtr and should always be a 2 piece shaft so it pivots in the middle rather than at the gearbox end which you should be easily able to see.
Passenger ones are usually all the same id like to reccoemnd the ones on templerally website as they are pribably cheaper than alot of oe replacements and a more Refined design. -
#5okay thanks guys.. so will a mk2 1.1 be a single piece... but will it be flat or tapered?
-
#6should be tapered i believe. you can also tell by the length of the hub nut. tapered shafts have a longer hub nut
-
#7as bertie says, 99% of mk2s are tapered end, yes have a look at the hub nut, the tapered ones do have a longer/deeper nut

#8£20 for a new driveshaft is good yeh?
