jus recieved my trs tow strap today so will be fittin.. what bolt do you need to fix it in with is it a seat belt bolt????
  2. #2
If you want to tow from it, I think its an M12 bolt? If not, just put it through the whole and cable tie it to the chassis

Any diy store will sell bolts.

Can buy a pack of them from B&Q for a few ££.

I got mine for about £0.80 from a local engineering store.

If you want to fit it and be towed from it without pulling your bumper off then you're gunna have to widen the hole.

yes a diy shop will sell bolts but

they aint up the job of being strong enough to have a piece of webbing attached to them and dragging a car out a gravel trap!!

you want at least a 10.9 grade bolt, preferably a 12.9 grade bolt!!!

may get one of these for my car soon! where did you get yours from? i see kamracing sell them for £15 but theyre only like £10 on ebay

I was gonna say about the Tensile strength they need to be, to be up to the job.. My bad.

But yeah, I made sure mine was of decent strength, and had the right Pitch etc.

Im so hardcore I got 2 on the front of mine. BOOM.

No seriously I have, one for towing and one for getting the car on the trailer via a winch.

I tried towing a mates car out of his garden using his tow strap and pulled it clean out of the hole it was screwed into, leaving the thread completely knackered. If you use one of these make sure it is screwed in with a good quality bolt, or else it may do you car more damage than good. We ended up dragging it out by attatching a tow rope to part of his chasis but then nearly ripped his front bumper off in doing so.

yeah, but when you see one on a car at the traffic lights, you know his 'track' car must be mega y0

all well and good having a tow strap (as just one of many crappy mods these days), but when are any of the douches on here ever going to see a track?...
