knocking noise

   hi all,
   my mate hasnt started his saxo for a while n when he did he could here a knocking noise coming from bonnet area any ideas what this could be ?
   before the carwas spot on!

   Might need a bit more info tbh, is this when it's idling, driving, turning, certain speed, just over bumps, etc?

   It's most likely due to the oil draining down to the bottom of the engine, so the Tappets have no oil for a few minutes, keep it running and see how it goes.

   Defo sounds like dry Tappets.
