lumpy idle

   my car sounds like a tractor when its idle, runs fine when its going but its lumpy when its not moving, what causes this? i had my head and cams changed and a new timing belt and water pump and idle control valve, can someone help? the garage seem to think its becuase i have no cat pipe? please help im from cardiff south wales and will pay for someone to fix this if they know whats wrong

   or isit something to do with the ecu??? remapping or something like that?

   When you say you've had the cams changed, you mean standard replacements or a sports cam?
   
   Sounds like they may not of been timed up properly.

   just standard, garage bought a secound hand head for me but it didnt fit so they used the insides on the new head and put it in the outer shell of my old head, runs fine but not on idle

   Get a second opinion from another garage, may not be timed properly, deffo dont think its anything to do with not having a cat.
