cutting out when just started

   Yeah, well as title says, my car is cutting out when i first start it up.
   
   Ive recently had it serviced, new oil, fuel filter, air filter, all that jazz xD
   
   anyway.. when i start the car up it the idles at like 500 or lower and then it cuts out... i have to keep my foot on the accelerator for a min or so just to keep the revs above 1k and then it idles fine around that.
   
   it did have the carb adjusted to idle lower quite a while ago (when i had my exhaust done) coz it was idling at 1.5k it was fine then so what im thinking is that the carb needs to be ajusted a little higher
   
   any ideas how to do this and is this even the problem?

   Cud be idle control valve, un plug idle control valve turn key to 2 clicks let pump prime then go plug it back in turn key 2 clicks then pump prime then key back out then do this over 6 times I'm sure thas how u do it I gt told to do that and it worked

   Throttle cable, seen it happen a few times, take it off and run some wd40 down it
