Smoked rear lights

  1. #1
Had a go at smoking my rear lights earlier and was wondering if I've done it wrong or not?
In some lights they look really dark then in the sun they look normal, is this right?
Here's a photo in direct sunlight of the lights...

Look alright mate, put some clear lacquer on them if you want them to shine a little better
  12. #12
I've already lacquered them now, would it be okay to add another thin coat to the left light over the lacquer then put some more lacquer on top?
  13. #13
there nice but its all about the all reds
  14. #14

depends what you like and tbh i think colour of car...mines silver 2 tone so i made mine really dark...goes well with the black wheels too...try and make them match with something else like blacked headlights or wheels...tinted windows ect

no not really, you might have to give them a VERY light sanding down..

the tint spray wont really stick to the lacquer, and it will probly run / look horrible..

mk 1 rear lights are slightly more smoked then mk2's, also smoked jewels are good if your going down the dark route.

smoking mk1 rear lights is kinda silly, as they look dark enough as it is.

I've already got mk1's? & I will look into jewels.
