Hi, I'm looking for a new clutch for my new engine build, n/a hopefully around 190bhp. I was talking to ATspeed and they offered me a 4 paddle helix cerametallic race/rally clutch. I'm thinking this is maybe a bit over kill for an engine with around 140lb of torque. Anyone using a Helix road clutch with similar power? There's not much difference in the price between the organic road clutch and the cerametallic clutch. Need to get it soon to get it away to get balanced with the bottom end.
What clutch?

#2As far as im aware valeo clutch is good up to 200bhp..

#3Price-wize I would rather go through 2 or 3 LUK clutches than pay out for a 4 paddle.
But thats just me.... -
#4torque kills clutches. Id say a Valeo in good nick will take 140lb no problem.

#5Well if I thought a valeo was just on it's limit with that I'd rather go for something a bit uprated. I'd rather get it right now than have to pull the box out after a short time to fit another clutch.

#6Theres guys have been using valeo clutches on low pressure turbo conversions and theyve been fine. Theyll have way more torque than an n/a screamer.
-
#7I may just stick with a valeo then. I was running a valeo before with 135lb torque with no problems at all. Even the road version Helix is big bucks.

#8As long as you dont do millions of launches or full pelt changes, i reckon it would be fine.

#9Yeah, I think I'll chance a valeo then. What I save can be spent elsewhere.
Thanks
