VTR driveshafts on a 3 stud?

Currently breaking a '98 vtr and cant help but notice she driveshafts look more or less the same as the shafts on my '97 3 stud.
Does any one know if theyre compatable?

I believe it's dependant whether the hub ends are the same, Tapered or not.
