where is the milage stored?

    as title asks,

    i have a mk2 VTS digital dials.

    looking at changing my dials,
    if i swapped to different dials would it have the milage off the old car it was removed from, or mine?

    heard different storys that it could be stored in ECU rather then the dials.

    it would have mileage from the car it was removed from as its stored on the dials mate
