blue or gloss black? pics post #1

which colour scheme do you think i should go for on my sax? i currently have my brake callipers and rocker cover in red, so was thinking a gloss black and red pin stripe theme:

or, maybe something a little different and go blue? (repaint callipers and rocker cover black)... some people have said this may look tacky irl, but opinions?

also has anyone done the wheels themself before? ive never done anything like it, except spraying my inserts... is it easy?
    cheers!

I think it would be better black with the red wheel rim tape and just subtle red touches dont think you should get a stripe for it

hmm yeah alot of people have been saying this lol, ah! what do you mean by a stripe?

Not a fan of the pinstripe if i'm honest! I really like the blue and I don't know why!! 99% of the time i'd say bright coloured wheels don't look right but the blue seems to work! As for spraying yeah you can do them yourself but to get a much better finish its best to get them powdercoated, you're looking at around £50/60 per wheel.

will probably do it myself at that price im still undecided though i thought the pinstripe looked okay haha, do you think just plain gloss black would look alright then?

The pinstripe doesn't look bad! I'm just not really a fan! Loads of people did it a year or so ago, not so many do it now. Yeah gloss black would look good. I do like the blue though!

LOL oh man, james your opinion doesnt help i like them both, but as kieranyeh said, doing them blue will make them harder to resell if i decide to do so at a later date... think i may just stick with gloss black

agree with you on this one, i can imagine it being a little tacky irl - it may look good at first, but after a month or two of looking at it i think i'd wanna change it haha
  13. #13
yeh i agree... play safe - go black
  14. #14
fuck playing it safe mate its a doddle to put it back to black when you sell anyway i think that blue looks cool as fuck and different which on a saxo is pretty impressive (so many of them its all been done) if you like the blue do it brother

Haha I could be wrong lol, we were speaking about it at the last CS meet we had and a guy had got a few quotes and I think £55 a wheel was the cheapest he could find! £25 a wheel for powdercoating is a steal, i'd re-do mine tomorrow for that price even though they are practically mint aha!
