   ive just been told that there are 2 wires that go onto the longest connector on the starter. Can anyone confirm this?

   Have you tried cleaning all the contacts as a dodgy contact could be the cause.

   have you tested the battery voltage when the engine is running? just hold a multi meter on the battery when the engines tickin over, it should read anywhere between 13 - 15 volts (any more or less, you have a fault with you alternator)
