Help please! smoking!!

   hi guys me and the father in law ( who is a mechanic) fitted a new clutch and gearbox last week, alls been good except today i was driving along at 60mph and a load of white smoke plummed out out from the back of the car. i pulled over and it stopped and hasnt done it since. any idea
   s if it was a one off or something more sinister??? thanks

   Have a look at the coolant, if its vlow then that plume of smoke was your coolant... could be headgasket im not too knowledgeable though :/

   coolant level is at a nice level, oils fine, and i started i started it and its fine, no signs of headgasket failiure as it hasnt once overheated. any other ideas??

   Check that the coolant level is still ok, plus the oil level.
   If the above are still ok, check for any signs of leaks from both the top and bottom of the engine.
   
   Suggest that you get your father-in-law to check it over if possible too - to be sure!

   everything is still exactly the same, i cant see any oil leaks or water leaks, engine is nice and clean

   he works about 50 miles away and i dont like to drive that far if im going to make the roads amassive smoke fest again lads
