Downpipe problems!

   Ok guys,
   
   I think this is my first post but here goes,
   
   Recently my saxo (1.1i 1998) has blown apart its downpipe,
   
   Went to scrappy and got a new one for a tenner and when i removed the old downpipe and fitted the new one.
   
   My lambda sensor isnt screwed on all the way because i cant screw it in any tighter and when i start to pull away the car makes a serious hissing sound and loses a hell of a lot of power.
   
   Also there is a whistling sound when i make it to about 30.
   I have a feeling it is because i left the old gaskets on it.
   
   Any ideas?

   May have the wrong downpipe if your lambda wont fit properly so wont seal causing the noises and power loss or it may be leaking past the lambda again causing noises and lack of power.
