A few problems

Ok folkes, i've got a few problems which i'm not sure if it's just me being paranoid or they are problems that people have had before, well here goes :

1. I have a strange ticking noise coming from what seems like the brakes, it seems to be on rotation of the wheel so clicks at a certain spot and in perfect timing when i speed up it speeds up etc and makes a worse noise when i hit a bump or pothole ?

2. My car seems to lag in performance, it's just had a service minus the air filter i think, and the EML is on, it runs quite lumpy on idle and kind of bucks when i depress the accelerator ?

3. The engine is quite noisey, sounds like a diesel at all times, noise calms a bit when run in but i can still hear it inside the car if the stereo is turned down ?

Clean the idle control valve out,
Petrol usually works best on a cloth.
That should sort your idle and maybe lag problem.

Another lag problem could be the coil pack, get another one of them on it and it should be fine.

Noise will be the tappets just go to any garage and get them adjusted.
Cost you about £30.

EDIT ; if you've just got a open coned filter fitted then my advice is to get rid of it.
It's heatsoaky and will make your car lag.

Yeah i think i'm going to do that on Sat before markeaton, and then if that dont work i'll get a new coil pack, i don't have a cone filter mate, i found that out from my old saxo soaked heat like you wouldn't believe.

Getting a pipercross or K&N replacement filter this week i think so see how that goes too

Thanks though mate, still trying to find out what the damn ticking noise from brakes is though it's driviing me crazy
