Oil Pressure / Lose of power.

Hello everyone. Nice to be apart of a website which is only for saxos.

My Question is rather sad but am sure experts here will be able to help me.

Basicly i bought a VTR Before the harsh winter but moved over to stay with my brother in England,

I came back only to realise that the Engine had no anti freeze n give up.

I Put a new VTR Engine into the car which was lying about for 6 months. but i just dont seem to feel the same power as i did. Is the engine dead or am i just getting used to the engine or do i just need to reservice the Oil?

Does Oil Pressure have alot to do with the proformance of the Engine?

Many thanks for reading my post and Thank you very much for any Feedback you can give me

If oil pressure drops the red oil light will show on the dash. This is a bad sign because when this light is on pretty much the damage is/has been being done.

The TU engine does not generally suffer from low oil pressure problems but inevitably a high mile unit could show these signs if the bottom end is worn.

On the bright side you might just have a duff oil pressure switch - found on the front of the engine block behind the down pipe. Have you checked the actual engine oil level also?

A service might help freshen up the engine and release a few more horses if it is in bad need of a service.

Use some engine oil flush,I had an old Renault 9 I swapped the engine over it felt sluggish so I used an oil flush. Then put new oil in it lasted another 80k.

I personally wouldn't use engine flush - the stuff does more harm than good imo.

Give it a full service - oil, filters and plugs. Then take it from there.

    Thanks for replies guys.

Just left it in on Wedensday to get serviced, Hopefully it will help.

As for *Stevo123* Yea i check the oil levels every week. Drops quite low by end of the week but normally a £9 Bottle every 2 weeks leaves it alright.

The Engine in now was lying about for 6-7 Months ish. So perhaps it just needed a clean up All i kno is that it aint what it used to be
