#2when i asked this i didnt get an answer
i know its not help but u know
i would just get 3 plug vts engine or source a crossover loom for a vts
splicing looms isnt an easy job in my book -
#3yeah ino mate but if i can get someone hu knows how to do it can it be done?
-
#4i dont see why not mate i think all you would need is the pin outs of each plug and go from there matching the wires you need
or pay some one to do it -
#5how would ino what a crossover loom looks like?
-
#6because it will have the single plug ecu (about 5 inch long instead of the 3 plugs you have) and the interior plug would be the big one (about 2 inch) same as one on your car
and the inside of a large interior plug is green
on the small one it has plastic moulded on the back (not like yours) -
#7ohhh cheers mate
-
#8get the right loom, its easier.
-
#9oh and crossover looms still dont work. i put a crossover loom on a 3 plug car and my dials and lights and fan didnt work
-
#10ive put a crossover loom on my vtr conversion and my dials and lights work just fine
-
#11theres more than one type of crossover loom depending on the spec of the car it came from
-
#12but i know the fan defo wont work. 3 plug cars run the fan of the engine loom because its ecu controlled. single plug cars have a seperate loom with a sensor in the radiator to switch the fan on so you need a new rad, fan, and fan loom.
-
#13oryt i didnt know that i just got one from ebay
-
#14what car would i get the fan loom from
-
#15single plug vts probably, they have the fan in front. im not sure on the crossover stuff it can be very hit and miss where citroen just made the cars out of whatever they had lying around. ive got vtr on the drive at the minute, has an early single plug loom but is w reg mk2 and has digi dials and rf central locking which is really weird
-
#16ive just pt a 1999 vtr engine in my 2000 x-reg furio and my dials and lights work but im unsure of the fan as im stil waiting for it to arrive
-
#17so is it a single plug engine into a crossover car?
-
#18no it had the 3 plug ecu i got told that 2000 was the crossover year so i presumed mine was one of them but it was a 3 plug from november 2000 so not a crossover
but i also bought a engine of a guy on here that told me it was from a 2000 model but when it came it was 1999 mk1 engine so totally different loom
and had to source a crossover loom (which took months) -
#19would have just been easier looking for a 3 plug engine tbh, but yeah your crossover loom wont plug into the fan so youre going to have to try and find a rad/fan and wiring for it from a single plug car.
-
#20how does it wire in then mate if its different
and i know yeah it would have been easier to do a 3 plug engine but got false info off this site and sold incorrect parts from this site again haha -
#21from memory its just a sensor in the radiator that goes to the fan. not sure off the top of my head at the minute
-
#22ok so if i buy a mk1 radiator and fan i should be fine do you think
-
#23i think so
-
#24thanks mate for the info i didnt know
