does the central locking reciever need to be programmed into the ecu for it to work?

Been to a garage today about my central locking, basicly my door locks are working if i manualy push the lock up and down so there is power to them and my key fob is sending but cant tell if my reciever is recieving the signal to lock and unlock my doors.

apparently they guy thinks i need to program it into my ecu for it to work again to say its the same sender and reciever.

now is this true or not?

next thing is im running an omex200 ecu and beaniemoo said it should not have nothing to do with the ecu about my central locking,

so now im like wtf to do now

how can i test if my reciever which is in my sun roof centre console is recieving the key fob, and if it ent then how can i fix this?

The ECU their on about is the central locking electric control unit!
NOTHING to do with the Omex! That purely does the engine spark!
Which control unigt and key fobs are you using?
If you're running my central locking control unit you'll need my key fobs, if you're running your central locking control unit you'll need your key fobs!
Failing that, check ALL the fuses, of failing that we could have a look at it, or you could just get some retrofit central locking fitted.
Just remember that when you're hoping to get anything retrofitted to your car you may struggle as none of your wiring is standard and dependent on the skills on the person fitting it, they may really really struggle
