Important! : My car feels, erm NOT GOOD!

I have no idea what's up with it.

    Its a Mark 2 VTR

Its just went in for MOT and only things that failed is headlights, the handbrake and the balljoints. I've changed the wishbone on both sides and now this is happening. I've also changed pads and discs on the rear.

The steering feels very light when I accelerate, feels wobbly going around corners and is juddering in braking.

Any help? Any things to double check.

And yeh my alloys are fitted securely.

get your alignment checked. Also check your tyres (walls/wear etc) for good measure. Do you have all same 4 tyres or 4 different brands?

    juddering in braking
    your discs might be fubar

Also check your tyre pressures just to eliminate another possible cause. Did you make sure everything was done up tight when you changed the wishbones?

Yeh everything was done up tight and even triple checked..

I put 38PSI in the front tyres and 36 in the back every week.

I was looking at my rear pads and the metal plate that goes in them. One of them was slightly loose. Would this cause the juddering?

    Holy Shit, 38 psi???

What wheels you got? Recommended Psi needed is 32psi i think

    Just standard VTR alloys.

I think its meant to be 36 in the fronts and 32 in the back. But they sill look quiet flat when I use these so I go a bit higher..

I put 35 front and 30 back on my VTR, it's what it says in the manual. The tyres wear evenly so it must be correct (ish). Is it violent juddering?

Not bad bad, but it does feel qood.

I think i can also hear a creaking.. from the front right (where i changed the wishbone)..

One thing i forgot to do was put the washers back on the middle joint but the bolts are secure.

    Could this be the problem?

The lack of washers may be the cause of the creaking, but I would put them back on anyway tbh. If the juddering feels like it sort of comes from the back then I would say it's probably the brakes. Secure the metal plate that's loose, put the tyres to 35 front and 30 back and see what happens. That's what I would do if it was my car.

Will do, al let you know how it goes.

    Cheers mate.

The creaking is probably just the new bushes in the wishbone mate. It'll creak for a bit until they've settled in.

But as said, because you've replaced a key part of the car's suspension the alignment will be way out. Poor alignment can cause all sorts of weird things to happen (my car used to crab along the road!!) so get that seen to first.
