   i found this under my dash after i removed my dash and dont know what it is
   anyone got an idea
   
   it has some kind of button on the end of it

   so its not standard then
   and i dont think its a rocket launcher didnt see anything shooting out front when i pressed it

    It goes through a hole and sticks out onto the front of the brake pedal, near the top of the pedal, i.e. you will have to get right up inside the pedal box.
    
    The pedal should rest on and push in the little button thing on the end when the brakes are depressed. When you push on the pedal it will release the button and this turns on your brake lights.
    
    I can't say for sure but you may have had to do this before putting all the dash on, I've just had my dash on and off twice recently and it's nigh on impossible to do once the dash is back on. I never did it on the Saxo though so it may well be fairly straight forward for you.

    I pulled my brake light switch out when I last removed my dash, my brake lights wouldn't go out until I pushed it back in.

    Attaches to the pedal box at the top of the brake pedal, think I had to lay in my seat upside down and just popped it back in
    
    My dash was back in at this point.
