    Hi peope, my mechanic today had ago at fitting my carbs on my vtr and hes said i need a ecu what can eliminate teh air flow meter and the idle vauvle? he got it running he said but the idle was to lumpy and it was running to rich so im not sure what to do can anyone help me out please, i was looking at the omex 600 ecu i see a few people use them? are they any good and has it got them 2 things i need on there? Also is that omex 600 ecu just a plug in job? Thanks guys.

    the idle and air flow metre wouldn't matter with carbs as you set them up using the idle adjust on the carbs them selves , and needs jetting correctly

    if its to ritch you need smaller jets, or the needle needs messing with

    You don't need a ECU if running on carbs. Be much cheaper to source a dizzy/coilpack set-up and tune the carbs so it runs spot on.

    So samller jets wil do the job? or dizzy coilpack set up? Where can i find one of them? There is four screw mixture on the carbs i take it that is for the mixtureing??

    you need both, if its running ritch then its running rich so that needs sorting, the dizzy will sort out the spark timing also make every thing a lot simpler

    carbs is a step backwards anyway, there was a reason they got left in the past

    WELL. I have just found out that i dont have carbs i have just boddies! silly me. So what should i do about this? im thinking its a ecu jobby?

    Theres a company on here username(Luthor)that sells an ecu called a Predator Luthor I believe can set it all up with a MAP etc.O`h and he`s based not to far away from you in Portsmouth mate.

    im not sure if he does single plug for the vtr's tho? anyone recomend preadator ecu? is it just the case of plug in and play? dont know much about ecus...

    I have throttle boddies! lol i dont have a clue how all this ecu crap works lol would like know if i can just get a plug in and play one but dont think i can cus predator dosnt do the 8v's yet
