    is this common fault as today when i put the foot down in second a little bit and then go to change to third it makes a noise like a dry bearing i can even let the clutch out when it is doing it and it still does it any ideas.

    i also have a squeeking sound comming from the drivers side its not the brakes as i have tried that i was thinkign it might be the bearing on the drive shaft what do you think

    Hard to say whats up with your gearbox off that info.. When my diff went (twice) it was a loud kind of whirring noise that got louder up the rev's.

    As for squeaks, you mean when your going over bumps?

    have a look at the ball-joint on the wishbone, if its split this could be it.. temp fix would be a squirt of WD-40, but if its gone, you should replace it.

    Check springs/droplinks/track rods etc while your under there.
