broken key :(

   i have a problem i have 2 keys for my 99 vtr one with a chip the other doesnt i snapped the key with the chip on i can start the car with the other but i have to hold the remainder of the other key next to it to do so (i dont know why i got told by a mate and it worked lol) how do i shut of the immob so i wont need the chip and will i need a new ecu thanks for any help

   why not just buy a blank key get it cut and transfer the chip ?

   i bought another key but i want both to work so the mrs can have one
