relocation of electric window switches

   hi,
   i was thinking of relocating my switches for the windows onto the centre console. moving my hazzards into the middle and having a window switch either side. there are alot of blanks so i thought i would put them to use. any help on the idea would be great. what switches would fit? type of switches? size of wire and maybe how to do it.
   
   has it been done before?

   You could use the original window switches & put them into the plastic on the doorcard(where you put your fingers down)to pull the door shut.As you`ll already have the wiring there.

   so there is already wires for the electric windows in the doors

   Of course there is the wires come up from the console to the window motor on each side of the car.

   not a bad idea! do you know if you can buy a blanking plate to cover the hole i wud move them from.

   Base models have a coin holder when the electric window switch would be? Go to a scrappy and pick one of these up?

   this is getting better would it not be possible to move them onto the centre console?

    the problem iv got is finding a switch that will fit onto the blanking plates. i might see if i can get 2 push buttons wired up for each window. ( up and down) if you get me. just a thought mind.

    You could try the window switches out of a citroen zx they are practically the same size as a saxo.

    flol brilliant mate, i stuck mine in the dash when i fitted my quickshift, had to extend the wires and cut abit out of the dash but it looks good now ill try and find a picture
