visual check of cam belt

   Hi,
   
   I've just bought an '02 VTR and the seller said the cam belt was changed by the previous owner at 61k, the car is now on 67k.
   
   Are there any tell tail signs to check to tell whether the belt has been changed. I had the cover off and the belt is just black, in not too bad condition, no writing on it

   Often older belts have a shiny surface but as mentioned below just assume the seller was full of it and replace it when you can.
