My Gearbox Leak (Pictures)

    Right got a new gearbox this saturday and fitted the same day but now have developed a leak (no leak on previous box)







    Theres the pictures it looks like its leaking from that box and no the driveshafts is this fixable?

    its most likely the driveshaft oil seals, did you replace them along with your new gearbox?

    Nope didnt change them but it doesnt look like they are leaking just looks like the box at the end

    There is oil dripping of the back bolt you can see in the top picture

    Tbh that doesn't seem bad pal, ive seen many of them like it.

    I had a trail behind me this morning lol but then it randomly stopped, its dripping onto my drive now

    the box came from us and i never noticed any leaks but seals etc can get damaged on installation, either way, its hardly gushing out, i'll post you a set of seals up tomorrow, btw your PM inbox is full Tally!

    Thanks mate, Its now empty , only noticed it when i had to back track and i saw a good trail of oil and im like is that me and it was

    rest of the car looks remarkably clean and oil free to say its discharged 2 litres of gear oil though

    Dont think all of it has gone yet, Not going to drive it this week tho just in case other than that the gearbox is fine

    There is a shield missing from the gearbox(picture 3), you shouldnt be able to see the flywheel as there is a metal cover for where the bell housing joins to the block, if your box is leaking and the shield is missing you could end up with oil on your clutch.

    Cheers its leaking from the end casing so should be ok!


    The gearbox is also struggling to go into first gear my clutch is very low could it be this? cant be the linkages as the other box was fine going into gears
